SmartPath XPath Generator Privacy Policy

SmartPath XPath Generator is a Chrome extension that helps developers and QA engineers generate XPath selectors for a user-selected element on the current web page.

Data Collection

SmartPath does not collect personally identifiable information, health information, financial information, authentication information, personal communications, location data, web history, or analytics data.

When the user activates the extension and selects an element on a web page, SmartPath reads the selected element and nearby page DOM content only to generate XPath selector suggestions. This processing happens locally in the user's browser.

Local Storage

SmartPath may temporarily store generated XPath results or error messages in Chrome local extension storage so the results can be displayed in the extension popup. This temporary data is removed after display or when the related browser tab is closed.

Data Sharing

SmartPath does not sell, transfer, or share user data with third parties. SmartPath does not send page content, generated XPath selectors, or extension usage data to any external server.

Remote Code

SmartPath does not load or execute remote JavaScript. All extension code is packaged with the extension. Optional AI-assisted XPath generation uses Chrome's on-device Prompt API when available.

Use of Data

Any page content inspected by SmartPath is used only for the extension's single purpose: generating XPath selectors for the element selected by the user.
